Last week’s article titled “A decade of Port Chester school bonds”
did not include the current number of registered voters. According to Port
Chester District Clerk Cathy Maggi, out of the 651,052 voters in Westchester
County, 13,711 of them can vote in Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District
elections. Of those, only 84 people are only registered to vote in school
elections. This means that 12 percent of registered voters sealed the fate of
the December 2015 bond because 1,649 voters out of the 13,711 who were eligible
cast ballots in that Dec. 22 referendum.
